Personality:
A bright, cheerful girl with a sunny disposition. Angelique is always willing to offer a smile to most people. She's a polite, friendly girl with a big heart. Too big of a heart really. It tends to lead her into trouble because she tends to think with her heart instead of her brain. However she's not all smiles and hugs. Angelique does have her snarky side. When someone is rude to her, she's rude right back. And if she sees a wrong, she's not afraid to comment on it. Unfortunately, she's intimidated rather easily. This probably has something to do with the fact that Angelique lacks confidence in herself. It's very often that she feels inadequate to everyone else. While proud of her small country of Seychelles, she laments over the fact that nobody has heard of it.. In fact she feels like a country bumpkin at times. Or perhaps more accurately a beach bumpkin since Seychelles is the epitome of tropical.
Angelique is a very strange girl. Not that she'll ever admit it. She's quite quick to throw that judgment around on others. Not only she's superstitious (much to her priest's dismay), but perhaps the strangest of all her superstions is Angelique's deep relationship with fish. Yes, she is completely obsessed with the sea creatures. Every fish she encounters is given a name. Usually a french one. She fervently believes that she understands the fishes wants and desires, perhaps even going so far that they talk to her. Angie has even written stories about her beloved fishes. Particularly a novel of epic length on the sacred relationship of the Swordfish and Tuna fish. Most baffling, nobody ever wants to read it. It's quite depressing for the girl, but she'll never give up trying! The world must be enlightened to their one true love!
Angelique may speak French, but she certainly can't cook like the French! Cooking without the proper supervision is not recommended to anybody who wants a kitchen still intact. But if guided properly, she can turn out a decent meal. Angie can be sloppy at times. She gets no joy out of cleaning and organizing things. Also, Angie absolutely loathes the cold. Snow? Demonic. Give her a warm beach any day! Besides she needs her ocean. It soothes her soul. One thing for sure, Angelique needs to live by the beach or she seriously feels incomplete.
History:
June 29th, eighteen years ago, the Morphey's oldest and only child entered the world. The setting? Victoria, Seychelles. But although Angelique has lived in Seychelles all her life, she's not Seychellois by heritage. Her mum- Charlotte Thompson- and papa- Henri Morphey- met in Paris for business and fell madly in love. They married in London. For the honeymoon they ventured off to the beautiful archipelago of Seychelles. It was love at first sight. Henri, being the heir to a successful resort company, convinced his parents to build their next resort in Seychelles. Together, Henri and Charlotte run it and has been a huge hit amongst tourists.
Naturally, Angelique grew up with a very international crowd. She has family both in England and France and visits them occasionally. Of course, they prefer visiting the Morphey's in the tropical paradise of Seychelles during the summer. The Morphey's and Thompson's are fond of playfully bickering amongst each other when they visit.
Like most Seychellois students interested in pursuing a higher education, once Angie graduated high school she was forced to go to university internationally. Not that Angelique minded. As much as she adores her islands, she was ready to get a larger glimpse of the world. She obtained a scholarship to study in Paris and is currently pursuing a degree in hotel management. She's determined to carry on the Morphey family legacy. She loves people and working with them.
As the days grew colder in Paris, Angie's strong dislike of the cold only stiffened. Besides, she was homesick for Seychelles. She wanted nothing to do with the demonic substance known as snow. But Angie's group of friends had other plans. They wanted to stay at ski resort in Switzerland for the duration of the winter break. Somehow they were able to convince their Seychellois friend to come along for the ride. Probably invoking the girl's great love of adventure. Not to mention, it would be good training for her. Just because Angie wasn't interested in running a ski resort, it would be good to see how one was run!
But alas, there was a mistake in the reservations. Turned out Angie booked the wrong ski resort and was separated from her friends. The girl tried to exchange her reservations, but it was nonrefundable. Angelique was stranded all alone in a strange place.
And furthermore it was cold.
Not a good way for Angie to spend her precious one month winter break.
Roleplay Sample:
The sea was beckoning once more for Angelqiue to join it. It had always been like that. As much as Angie loved dancing, her first and true love was to the sea. She had cheographed many a piece to her beloved sea. Besides it too was a dance. The endless crashing waves upon the shore, the eternal tug and pull between the moon and the tides- when in doubt for inspiration she only had to make her way to the beach.
Thank god World Academy W was on an island. Angelique wasn't sure what she would do it fhs was ever parted from her beloved ocean. The very thought was inconceivable!
But standing upon the shore, her white sundress flapping in the breeze all around her, was simply not enough. Not when the call of the sea was this strong. There was only one thing to do. Stripping off the sundress, revealing more eternally tanned skin and a teal bikini that complemented her dark coloring well. With every bit of the grace of the dancer she was, Angie slowly and sensually entered the water.
Deeper and deeper, Angelique embraced the sea as if it were a lover's embrace. The temperature was perfect. But even if the water had been nippy, Angie would do battle with the dreaded cold to be in the water. Because once she was in, it didn't matter the wather. Rain or shine, warm or cold- Angelique welcomed it all. She was born to be with the sea as Angie was sure she was born to dance.
Once the water rested comfortably right above her chest, the Seychellois girl spread her arms as if ready to surrender her soul to the sea itself. And began to sing. It was an etheral soprano worthy of a siren herself. The lanague an ancient one few would recognize. Whereas dancing, Angelique was willing to share with the world, she was much shyer about her singing. Singing was a deeply spiritual, immensly private ordeal to her.
The effect wasn't immediate, but eventually the dancer from Seychelles was surrounded by schools of fish. They always came when she sang this particular song. The roles were reversed now. For she was the sire and the sea her helpless victim lured in by her voice. In song, she welcomed them all.
On and on, Angelique sang as the world disappeared into the depths of the ocean. All cares, all worries, all floated away. For this was her private communion where she was the high priestess and the fish her beloved followers.
